For some of you, filling your cup doesn't come in the form of sitting by the pool with a cocktail and about a hundred other tired, overworked people, it means getting outside, seeing something that blows your mind and doing things that leave you feeling empowered and enlivened. Sound familiar? Yea. Let's do something amazing with the time you have and let me tell you, Nepal is amazing.
The trip starts in Kathmandu, exploring a culture steeped in history and spirituality, touring the religious relics, temples and stupas of both Buddhist and Hindu traditions. Yoga and meditation will be offered each day to unwind from the intensity of a bustling city.
From Kathmandu we head to Pokhara for a day where we will enjoy the beautiful Fewa Lake and the incredible views of the Himalayas. The next day we head out on a short flight to Jomsom where we begin our 12 day trek through Upper Mustang. This land is full of magic- its isolation from the world has served to preserve its ancient traditions that begin even before Buddhism came to it. Surrounded by idyllic mountains and countryside, free from the intensity of our now normal lifestyle clarity of mind and spirit quickly set in, reconnecting with our soulful side and tapping into strength of body and mind that we often forget at home. Each day's trek will be challenging but far from impossible, giving us the opportunity to prove to ourselves how incredibly strong and capable we are. Spending our days in the presence of the Earth's behemoths will both humble and inspire, connecting us back to the roots of who we are and what makes us tick.
Each day we will take time to stop, settle and check-in. This is a powerful trip in numerous ways and power is a combination of strength and strain, comfort and discomfort. The daily experience is not limited to the physical alone- nurturing a practice of presence and non-doing will support participants in feeling what is coming up each day- mentally, physically and emotionally- with some balance as well as providing a template to take in and enjoy the peace that is available to you. Chelsea has over eight years of experience practicing, studying and teaching yoga, meditation and other mindfulness practices. We will practice each day based upon itinerary, conditions/location and level of energy.
